Join our innovative Tech Internship program and contribute to cutting-edge solutions for rural revitalization. Work on web development, mobile applications, and digital tools that support AKIYA2.0's mission.
This internship focuses on developing technology solutions that bridge the gap between traditional Japanese culture and modern digital experiences.
- Duration: 2 to 3 months
- Location: Remote work or Tokyo headquarters
- Tech Stack: React, Node.js, Python, mobile development
- Mentorship: Direct guidance from experienced developers
What you'll do
- Develop and maintain AKIYA2.0's web platforms and mobile applications
- Create digital tools for property management and cultural documentation
- Build interactive maps and virtual tour experiences
- Implement data analytics for tourism and cultural preservation insights
- Collaborate on IoT solutions for property monitoring
- Develop APIs for partner integrations with Japan Travel and other vendors
- Create user-friendly interfaces for both international and Japanese users
- Contribute to open-source projects related to cultural preservation
Who we are looking for
- Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field student/graduate
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (JavaScript, Python, Java, etc.)
- Experience with web development frameworks (React, Vue.js, Angular, etc.)
- Understanding of database management and API development
- Interest in cultural preservation and sustainable technology
- Problem-solving mindset and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and in remote teams
- English proficiency; Japanese language skills are advantageous
- Experience with mobile development or IoT is a plus
